ABSTRACT: This research investigates the benefits of early childhood education in fostering respect for diversity among young children. Objectives include evaluating children's understanding of diversity, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early diversity education. A survey design was utilized for its ability to gather comprehensive data. Purposive sampling was used to select 200 children from preschools in Anambra State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to diversity education demonstrated greater respect and appreciation for diverse backgrounds. Effective practices included discussions on diversity, diverse representation in learning materials, and interactive activities that celebrate different cultures. The study recommended integrating diversity education into early childhood curricula to foster respect for diversity from an early age.
